Our story

History

Cadet College Kharan is a residential educational institution established with the vision of providing quality education and character-building opportunities to the youth of Balochistan. Located in District Kharan, Balochistan, the College aims to develop academically accomplished, morally upright, physically fit and disciplined young individuals equipped with the qualities of leadership and service to the nation.

The College was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, in March 2023. With its establishment, Cadet College Kharan became an important addition to the educational landscape of the region, providing students with an environment that combines academic excellence, discipline, physical training and personality development.

The College commenced its academic journey with its 1st Entry in Class VII in March 2023. The 2nd Entry joined the College in April 2024, followed by the 3rd Entry in 2025. The 4th Entry joined in April 2026, marking another significant milestone in the gradual expansion of the institution.

At present, Cadet College Kharan comprises Classes VII, VIII, IX and X, with its strength growing progressively with every new entry. The 5th Entry is scheduled to join in January 2027, further strengthening the academic and residential structure of the College.

The cadets of Cadet College Kharan are proudly known as “Raskohians.” The name reflects their association with the land, heritage and identity of Kharan and represents the sense of belonging, pride and fellowship shared by the cadet community.

From its inception, the College has focused not only on classroom education but also on the holistic grooming of its cadets. Academic instruction is complemented by physical training, sports, co-curricular activities, discipline, leadership development and character-building. The College seeks to provide its cadets with the confidence, competence and sense of responsibility required to serve society and the country in the future.

The Raskohians are encouraged to develop a strong sense of discipline, patriotism, integrity and responsibility. Through a structured residential environment, they are provided opportunities to cultivate teamwork, self-confidence, leadership skills, resilience and respect for others.

Cadet College Kharan aspires to emerge as a centre of excellence in education and character development in Balochistan. Its long-term vision is to prepare young people who can excel in higher education, professional careers and national service while remaining firmly rooted in the values of discipline, integrity and responsible citizenship.

Cadet means the young person who is under training to become an officer in armed forces, therefore, this college aims at:

  1. 01Training them to attain the qualities of head and heart which can facilitate them to join the armed forces.
  2. 02To design an inclusive curriculum that sparks innovation and creativity in the minds of cadets which in turn hones their power of reasoning.
  3. 03Overall grooming of the cadets to equip them to perform their duties justly and skillfully in private and public sectors, during peace and war.
  4. 04Ultimately, to produce future leadership which is physically fit, mentally alert, morally upright and imbued with national spirit to serve the motherland Pakistan, devotedly and selflessly.

The college is headed by the Principal, with an Academic Wing (Vice Principal, house masters and heads of departments) and an Administration Wing (Adjutant and administrative staff). A photograph and name can be added against each post as they are provided.

Cadet life

College rules & regulations

Cadets are admitted on the condition that they will abide by the rules of Cadet College Kharan. These provisions support discipline, academic progress and the residential routine.

Discipline

Maintaining a high standard of discipline is the hallmark of the college. It plays a very significant role in grooming and moulding the cadets into wholesome personalities and highly useful future citizens of the country.

Daily routine

While in the college, cadets have to follow the daily routine. The purpose of the daily routine is to ensure a balanced distribution of time for each activity. This is mandatory not only for academic development but also for physical growth.

Annual calendar

An annual calendar is issued with the prior approval of the Principal. It includes the schedule of all events, competitions, examinations, term breaks and vacations.

Prayers

All prayers are compulsory for all cadets, except Non-Muslims.

Absence from college

The name of a cadet will be struck off the college roll after six days of unauthorized absence without any notice.

Parents’ visiting days

Parents and guests are allowed to see the cadets only on specified Sundays (Parents’ Visiting Days) according to the annual calendar.

Extra money

Parents should not give any extra money to cadets. If cash exceeding Rs. 500/- is found in the possession of a cadet, the amount will be confiscated and will not be refunded. However, parents may deposit extra money with the concerned House Master, who shall maintain a record of such money. Cadets may receive the money from the House Master once a week or as required.

Readmission

There will be re-admission in 1st Year Class as per the admission rules.

Dress inspection

Dress inspection is carried out every Monday to ensure proper turnout of the cadets.

Rules and regulations

The cadet is admitted to the college only on the condition that he will abide by the rules and regulations of the college. Any violation of the rules and regulations will make him liable to expulsion. The college cannot be held responsible for any illness, injury, accident, disability or death of a cadet once the cadet is out of the premises of the college.

Grounds for expulsion

A cadet can be expelled from the college on the following grounds. In case of a serious offence, a cadet may be expelled without previous warning.

  • Stealing
  • Cheating
  • Willful and deliberate damage to college property
  • Using unfair means in examinations
  • Repeated absence without leave
  • Failing in examinations
  • Consistent indiscipline
  • Possession of firearms of any kind
  • Subversive activity
  • Smoking
  • Use of narcotics, intoxicants or unauthorized medicines
  • Abandonment from college
  • Insolent behavior with staff
  • Fighting
  • Harassing juniors
  • Immoral offence of any kind whatsoever
  • Grave misconduct outside the college campus
  • Any action likely to violate the good order of the college
